Our Rajashthani Folk Dance Performance :)

Finally Its over!!! We had Post celebration for 66th India Republic Day Celebration on 1st February. Were anyone can participate presenting any cultural program from their respective state. We enroll our group to participate to represent Gujarat with Garba, but some one has already given thier entry for it. Finally we decided to represent Rajashthan this time and we came up to do rajasthani fold dance "CHIRMI". We all ladies worked so hard to do practice being in so many other commitment in daily life with work and home. We were in total 8 participant and all married, having kids, Home to manage and work. But I guess we all were blessed with such a supportive family members, where we have given time for practice for our rajasthani dance, When I was on stage, I feel so proud to be a part of 66th republic day celebration which was going on. It feel great when you celebrate for your country being away from one. It was great experience and it was lot of fun watching other states performance from India.

There were many issue in last week of of our practice and we all meet just day before our performance. We had some other program for India Tourism and we were busy to prepare for performance in that so couldn't do practice for our rajasthani dance. We gave our half day in practice. Still after I saw our performance video, I feel we could have done more better. There is lack of synchronization, and also some minor mistakes. But I think it went well. Hope to do more better  same performance next time. Finger crossed !!! We have done practice for this dance watching video on You Tube who has performed this same dance in 2010 by vanasthali vidyapeeth students and they won many prizes for it. We coulden't match them, they are the best and we did our best on that same Chirmi dance. Credit for Dance step is all them, we have changed few step in ours dance. Hatts off to those girls who were dancing taking three pots on head balancing them so well. We just mange to take one pot and that also we tied it up.

Happy Day - 8 with Happy Holi :)

Happiness is to play Holi with both my girls, putting just kumkum on each other faces. Glad to know that Ananyaa remember's it from last year too and asking me if I got any other color then just red. Well what to explain her, it was my mistake, her baa got some colors from India last year to play holi, but I don't know where I kept it and was not finding one when it was actually needed. She made a face for not having other color, but then she was ok after I explain her. Though daddy didn't participate following baa, we 3 enjoy in our way and then posed for picture too.

Holi is Indian Festival of Colors, which remarks the Beginning of Spring, Vasant Utsav, celebrated on Phagun Purnima, full moon day. Festival was knocking my door and I was missing sitting far away from its origin. It’s not like we don’t celebrate overseas. I do my best to celebrate at home, so that my Kids learn about our culture, not only that it’s sigginificans behind festival as well. We played Holi today with kumkum at home putting on each other’s face after puja and wished each other Happy Holi. I even told my Big One, story related to Holi, and she was listening mumma quietly. So here is what I told her, I hope I am right to most extent of it. In India most of people celebrate Holi putting colors on eachother.

Holi has an ancient origin and is also celebrated to good over Evil. It is said that in ancient time there was a demons king named Hiranyakasipu. His son Prahlad was greatest devotee of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyaksipu didn't like this. So he tried to kill his son by many devils, but he failed. At last he called her sister named Holika, who had a magic robe. This robe had the power to save the wearer from burning in fire. Hiranyakashyap ordered his sister to sit on burning fire along with prahlad. He thought that her sister would not be harmed by fire because of the magic robe and Prahlad would be burnt to death. But the result was the opposite to what the evil demon king planned. From that day Holi is celebrated in India. It symbols the victory of true faith and love for God. Every year people do Bonfire, means Holika Dahan and Pray God to finish evil. The ritual symbolizes the victory of good over evil which continuous today too. And then next day people use to play Holi with colors.

Holi is also celebrated in memory of the immortal love of Lord Krishna and Radha Th.e young Krishna would complain to his mother Yashoda about why Radha was so fair and he so dark. Yashoda advised him to apply color on Radha's face and see how her complexion would change. Since then holi is celebrated as the remembrance of the divine love of RadheKrishna.

If I recall my child hood, what not I have done, I have played Holi with Mud, Toothpaste, water, color and Oil too. I was missing those pichkari (water gun) , in which we use to fill water and sprinkle on each other, and water balloons which we use to throw, people walking on street and then they wonders, who did that. I have memories of playing holi with Friends, Family, with Society people, after my marriage and then hubbys friends too.
Well I was happily telling her about festival. But inside me, I was feeling little sad that will my girls will ever enjoy true form of Holi !!!! Fingure crossed.

Happy B'day to God Ganesha - Happy Ganesh Chaturthi....

Happy B'day to God Ganesha - Happy Ganesh Chaturthi...
and Happy B'day to My Dear Husband as well...

It's B'day for his Car - Honda CRV too...Last year we got car delivery on same date. It's been Smooth Driving for 1st year and hoping same for future...

I got my Driving Licence on Sep. 01, 2010. It's been 1 year and I am clear on my record for accident. I mean no Big accident. Like I got hit by someone else and it was small dent on my car. so....it's so far so good as per me...

Today it was 1st Year Kindergarden Orientation for Ananyaa at Kingswood Drive School.and it was so much Fun. We meet Ananyaa's Class Teacher Ms. Bertlet. She Introduce her to her Classroom. Ananyaa was so happy to be there and don't want to come back to Home - Good Sign. We all at home are very excited for her. It's bittersweet in the sense that she is growing up so fast.

Yesterday school visit for Orientation allows parents and kids to visit the school and become familiar with their classmates and teachers...It's good for the parents to meet each other and feel secure that they know their child's routine, what they are going to do in School. Ananyaa's Class Teacher name is Ms. Bertlet. She gave me few instruction to keep in mind for her Dressing and her Lunch and her Bus Pass etc. I got so Emotional and got wet eyes....

I just can't believe that she is almost 4 years old and starting her School. Time flies and it flies so fast. I was mesmerizing moments of her babyhood today....and feel like if she can go back to that stage....and I am so Emotional....I just can't take it that she is going to be away for few hours from home Environment. But I am happy that she is starting her Pre-School, stepping for first mile stone of her Life....I am so nervous for her.

Hope God Ganesha will Bring more Peace and Happiness to everyone's Life, and peace in World too. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all my Family & Friends & to my Readers too.
